ANOTHER SOUP CRATE TABLESCAPE!

Well, my sweet hubby presented me with a lovely bouquet of mixed flowers for Valentine's Day. I divided the bunch up last night into several smaller arrangements so that I could enjoy them all over the house.
Two of them ended up in my soup crate on the kitchen table with a rusty (bent!) metal bowl and a little cupid.  ,
And a woven heart (Goodwill find).
I hope your Valentine's has brought you many smiles,

Love,
Mandy

A PUB TABLE FOR TEENAGE PAD!

We needed a tall table to sit in the corner of two twin beds in my teenage son's new Teenage "Pad". So I got creative with a hamper, a wheel, and a glass top! Sounds scary doesn't it?? But look how easy and well it turned out?

The hamper is a large one that I originally purchased for our master closet but quite frankly, was too large to haul into the laundry room when it was full!!! It has been sitting upstairs storing blankets for ages, but it is the perfect size to become a base for the pub table.
The wheel is one of two that had been sitting in our garage and the glass top is just one of the small round glass tops for small round tables that you can purchase anywhere. The stools are old ones that I painted a distressed black and red stain seat finish.
This will be the perfect table for him to take to college eventually but for now is a great addition to his "pad".

Thanks so much for stopping by,
Hugs, Mandy

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY HUNKA-CHUNKA

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY EVERYONE! HERE ARE A FEW OF MY CUPIDS TO BRING YOU LOVE, HOPE AND HAPPINESS!!!

My two "Cupids" have been around for ages...they were gold, but I recently painted them white and then stained them until I got the look I achieved. They sit on my dining room sideboard. Cuuuuute!

Love the reflection in the mirror of his buddy!
Another couple of angels hiding out in a corner. Again these were both gold and I painted and stained them, much better! The wooden cake stand with the cloche vignette on top was made by my grandpa.
One of my favorite prints...so sexy....It is called:"  The Meeting On The Turret Stairs"   by Frederick William Burton (1816-1900).

Love yourself and love the ones your with,

Hugs,
Mandy

STILL WINTER HERE....

With temperatures around 15 below zero this morning, I am again reminded that winter is still here in Indiana! So, like the song says:" Thinking n' Hoping n' Praying"   it will warm up soon, I decided to show my kitchen winter tablescape before Spring finally gets here!
I purchased the old Campbell's Soup crate ages ago, and just filled it with a little snowy greenery, a darling snowman and some snowball ornaments and little green fuzzy balls.

This picture was taken around 7:30am today.
So was this one.
Then I took this one around 8am.
And this one.

Here is a close up for the runner I purchased from Sonya at Beyond the Screen Door. Doesn't it match my chair pads perfectly?
I am going to try to stay warm today, hope you do too....
Hugs,
Mandy

FROM HUGE CRAFT ROOM TO SMALL BUT HANDY DANDY CLOSET!

There's a small walk-in closet in my den which was previously used for this....
But now it looks like this:
I installed an extra shelf above the filing cabinets to accommodate craft paints etc.
Underneath I put up a couple of cork board tiles to hold some often used tools.
And put a freshly painted little black bookcase on top of cabinets to house more odds and ends
On the opposite wall there's just enough room for a larger cork board
Whoa! I know, but it is sooooo handy!!!!!

and some Goodwill baskets I am collecting that hold various items I use often and my tool basket which goes with me on all my staging jobs.
I am really appreciating having this handy little space and don't miss my large craft room at all!

Have a great day!
Hugs,
Mandy

DECORATING WITH GOODWILL TREASURES!

Okay here goes:
The 4 chair covers now cover four chairs around an old painted wicker table in the game area.
The large plate was introduced into a bookcase to balance out my new white pieces, love it!!!!

The small bowl and teal and blue plate found spots on my mantle.

The clock is now in the "Teenage Pad" up on the wall above where the tv and gaming console will be.
The 3 steel containers now hold a collection of empty drink containers, magazines and knick-knacks.

The glass game tops are now topping tv tables.....too cool.
The cool plaster like lamp found a spot on my painted table http://wisedesignsinspirations.blogspot.com/2011/01/faux-finished-table.html in the living room.
The little foot stool on the sofa is an anti doggie tool....:)

The steel plant holder now holds a box of tissus next to bed.

The glass globe found a spot on the coffee table with a couple of "friends".

I had a great time decorating with my cheapo finds!

Have a great day,
Hugs,
Mandy
