This is the hearth area in our kitchen.
I love the brick wall.
Here's another shot of the hearth area showing the built in painted entertainment cabinet.I always felt the mantle got a little lost on the the brick wall and then I had a thought....now that's a dangerous thing!~!! I'm going to paint it!
And that is just what I did. I went ahead and painted it black and then distressed it and finished it with rub on finishing wax. Wow, I lurrrvv it!
It just looks like it was always supposed to be painted black! And it has taken me 10 years to figure that out...oh well....
